Tiny Home Loft Inspiration

Where did the inspiration for this loft design come from?

We were inspired by a favourite memory from when we lived tiny. Our first home was a converted Edmonton city bus! Our bed was between 2 emergency exit windows that we lifted up, awning style. Falling asleep at night with the windows open was incredible. It was the sound of the frogs and crickets, the feeling of cool cross breezes over us, and listening to the rain fall on the tin roof.

When we started designing this tiny home, we knew we needed to draw on that experience. Windows on both sides of the bed were a MUST. Not only would they bring the view of nature in but also the sounds, the smell, and the feel.

This loft also features a vertical fir headboard that is back-lit with LED lights. The ambiance at night is beautiful. With the mattress sunk into the floor, ample room was made so one can comfortably sit up in bed to read.

Custom storage drawers were designed on either side of the bed for clothes. As well, there are small side table drawers and USB ports for device hook ups.

As we design and build custom tiny homes we are taking inspiration from our lives and the lives of the clients we serve. Those days living tiny played a role in shaping who we are today, guiding how we live and choose intentionally and design homes. Our life experiences shape who we become and how we live in the spaces around us.

Like recommending a great movie or restaurant to a friend, it is exciting to share some of the best parts of our life experiences with others. We are excited to hear about your experiences, learn from them, and design homes inspired by them.
