Sweet Sweet Summer
How we plan on spending our summer…
Where we live in Canada, there is so much beauty to be experienced in every season. We have the Rocky Mountains covered in snow, the glowing yellow of larch season in autumn, and the magic of watching spring emerge in every neighbourhood of every city. But there’s something about the sweet slowdown of summer that we will always love the most. It’s the time of year we try to maximize, making the best use we can of every sunny minute.
When it comes to tiny home living, it’s easy to forget that your space significantly increases depending on how you set up for outdoor living! An intentionally designed deck or patio can extend your home right out into your beautiful surroundings. With a fire pit, awning, and patio furniture, you can extend your summer living like crazy! Just because you are living tiny doesn’t mean you can’t host family bbq’s, have the girls over for wine around the fire, or treat your patio as a second living room, drinking coffee in the early hours of the morning, listening to the birds sing, taking in all you can of the beautiful world around you!
We have big plans as a family this summer and some exciting adventures planned!
We are going camping in the Devon River Valley and canoeing down the North Saskatchewan River. We also have a former-client-turned-friend who is a white water rafting guide! We are heading south to Bragg Creek for a rafting adventure with her. We have met so many incredible people through Fritz Tiny Homes and will forever be grateful for those connections.
When we’re not out adventuring, we plan to take in as many Edmonton Elks football games as possible and host dinner parties in our backyard. Summer is such a life-giving time for community building.
Our big adventure this summer is that we are taking the kids to Maine! Heather grew up spending her summers in Maine, where her mom’s side of the family is from. It’s so special for us to take our 4 kids and for them to have a taste of this family tradition.
Not only is this special to us as a family, but we are accompanying a brand new Fritz Tiny Home as it makes its way across the continent to its new home in Maine. You know we’ll post a million pics for you to follow along with us on instagram!
