Halcyon Studios Become Epic Family Getaway in Utah

The best part of meeting our clients is discovering the uniqueness of their stories and helping to create the life they dream about.

 Every family is so beautifully unique. When our clients in Utah reached out to us about building their dream family getaway set up, we were so honored. They live in a bustling city but have rural property they use for camping, riding ATVs and they even have a dome set up for glamping. They wanted to create something more permanent so they could spend their summers making incredible lifelong memories for all the kids in the family. Their story resonates with us so much, because we are trying to do the same with our kids – create lasting memories through intentional time together, in nature.

We personalized 2 Halcyon Studios – one for the adults, one as the ultimate kid bunkhouse. They wanted maximum sleeping space because they live outdoors as much as possible. They have a great set up for outdoor cooking and dining, so the only kitchen amenities we put inside for them is a small fridge. This is a perfect example of how we create models that come with a standard design, while still leaving a ton of room for personalization.

We personalized the kid’s bunkhouse with white oak built-in bunkbeds for lots of sleeping space, as well as a sofa with a trundle bed hiding under it. The beds have built-in reading lights and storage. You can imagine the cousins all piling in together after a day in the sun and an evening under the stars.

The “adult” Halcyon Studio has a murphy bed by EMBED, a ton of storage, enormous windows, and a luxury single-piece concrete shower in the bathroom that is elegantly hidden behind a sliding door. The space is so functional for this family.

The most exciting part of all…these 2 Halcyon Studios are fully off-grid. We built a smaller third building to act as their solar shed and house everything they need to make their set up off-grid and the ultimate in sustainable living.

We both have so many core memories of camping as kids, and we know our kids are building these important memories every year as well. This set up will serve this family for years to come.
