All of our Fritz Tiny Homes are special to us. But our latest Halcyon 2 that is currently on its way to its new home in Los Angeles is extra special. This beautiful home is one of the most luxurious tiny home we’ve built yet. But even more, it represents such an exciting move in the direction of making tiny homes more accessible to people.
Los Angeles is one of a number of cities where you can legally live in a tiny home on wheels (NFPA1192 RV). This is one of many ways the city is addressing their housing needs. It’s a win for the industry and the city of LA. The more cities catch on to this idea and pass the necessary bylaws to allow them legally, the more they allow people to live intentionally, in a small space, the more other cities will do the same. Tiny homes are part of thriving cities, so this legislation in LA makes us so excited! It’s happening!
We always have lots of people ask us questions about having pre-designed models instead of fully custom builds. Everyone is unique and worries that a pre-designed model will compromise the awesomeness of their tiny home. We recently made a video of how we walked this tiny house client through the selection process. We want to share it with you so you can see that there are so many choices available to our clients with our pre-designed model homes. Selecting a model home just means that you benefit from all the learnings of our previous designs without paying the cost of having to redesign your tiny home from scratch. We literally had to get a permit to shut the street down and we are craning the house over the existing home on the property into position! This tiny home will be a long term rental unit.
